Tarek was born in Saudi Arabia. He obtained his BSc degree from Northern Border University (NBU) in Physics and graduated in 2011. After graduation, he spent a year in the physics department of NBU as a teaching assistance. Then he went to the USA to study his MSc in Physics at the University of Akron and graduated in 2016.
In October 2017 he began his PhD work with the EPMM group under the supervision of Professor David Lidzey. In his project, Tarek will explore the stability of a variety of perovskite materials. This will be done both on control thin films, and in devices based on combinations of perovskites and different charge transporting materials. Also, he is funding by the government of Saudi Arabia to study his PhD.
