Richard (Theo) is currently undertaking a PhD at the University of Sheffield studying polariton dynamics in organic semiconductors operating in the strong coupling regime under the supervision of Prof David Lidzey.

Whilst attending school in London, Theo developed an interest in Physics which lead him to the University of Sheffield. After receiving his BSc Physics and Astrophysics in 2011 and learning about some of the biggest objects in the universe, he decided to focus some of the smaller things instead and undertook an MSc in Nanoscale Science and Technology at the universities of Leeds and Sheffield. It was there that he developed an interest in organic semiconductors which lead him to his current area of study of Bose-Einstein Condensation and Polariton lasing.

Theo has an active lifestyle and travels extensively. He has kayaked from Budapest in Hungary to the Black Sea by Romania, skydived in Canada, and scuba-dived in Malta. He is currently plotting his next trip. In his spare time, he enjoys a range of books, sports, music, endless youtube videos, candlelit dinners, and long walks on the beach.
